The Canary Islands are a cluster of Spanish-governed islands, The bigger, more popular of these islands being Gran Canaria, La Palma, Tenerife, Lanzarote and Fuereventura, they have become synonymous with great value all year round holidays. South of Gran Canaria.

One of the top destinations for family holidays, Canaries breaks are available via regional UK airports, including Glasgow, Gatwick, Edinburgh, Durham Tees Valley, Doncaster, East Midlands, Manchester and Exeter.

Tenerife

The island of Tenerife has airports both north and south, the southern airport is by far the busier. The other main islands of Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote are similarly easy to get to by plane from any regional airport.

The most famous resort on Tenerife is of course Playa de Las Américas. The tourists visit Las Américas to experience the hustle and bustle of a wild Spanish resort in nightclubs like The Full Monty Fun Pub, Tramps, Shenanigans, Sound of Cream, Rags Bar and Club, and Veronicas Dance Club.

In neighbouring Los Cristianos, a much more low-key atmosphere attracts couples and families to enjoy the bars and restaurants near the beach. Holidays in the Canaries can be enjoyed all year round, temperatures remain warm even during winter.

Tenerife.

Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura is the oldest of all the Canaries. Fuerteventura is relatively young in geological terms, but is the oldest of all the Canary islands, formed 70 million years ago as a result of volcanic activity. Fuerteventura’s modern landscape has changed little and the landscape is decidedly volcanic in origin.

Luckily for the tourists there are no active Volcanoes on Fuerteventura today! just 60 miles off the coast of Morocco The geographical position of Fuerteventura means that for many tens of thousands of years sand from the Sahara has been deposited on Fuerteventura’s shores. Consequently, Fuerteventura boasts around 125 miles of the best beaches in the Canary isles if not the world.

Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria gives a good illusion of being a tropical paradise even though its part of Europe. A continent in miniature it offers lush forests, exotic fauna and flora, Sahara like dunes, mountains, volcanic craters, sometimes snow on the highest peaks, the most dynamic capital city in the Canaries, incredibly beautiful coastlines and spectacular beaches.

There are resorts, hotels, apartments and accommodation to suit all budgets and tastes, the most popular resorts include, Bahía Feliz, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Maspalomas, Meloneras, Playa Amadores and Playa del Inglés.

Lanzarote.
Lanzarote

Lanzarote is around 37 miles long by 12 miles wide which makes it the fourth largest Canary island. Lanzarote island enjoys a mild dry climate with average daytime temperatures ranging from about 21°C in January to 29°C in August. The main resorts on Lanzarote are Arrecife, Costa Teguise, Playa Blanca, Puerto Calero and Puerto del Carmen.
