Costa Adeje Tenerife, Sunset Harbour Club Costa de Adeje, is one of the newest and most prestigious resorts in Tenerife. The best accommodation options on the island are located in this southern area.
Costa de Adeje has emerged in recent years giving place to a more exclusive and refined demand for tourism on the island. It is located just next to Playa de Las Américas in the municipality of Adeje.
Like other popular places in the south of the island, Costa Adeje Tenerife also has risen out of nowhere, mainly due to the demand for new hotel spaces near the sea and in a location with constant warm temperatures. Just as in the other towns and touristic places in the area the average temperature throughout the year is about a 25 ° C and with a lot of sunny days.
Costa Adeje Tenerife is one of the three most important tourist resorts, along with Los Cristianos and Playa de Las Américas, also located in the south of the Island, where you will find a wide range of hotels, tourist activities and relaxation moments.
Bathing on the Tenerife beaches of this tourist spot is guaranteed mainly because the temperature is very pleasant throughout the year, the calm of the waves, the clean sand and the quality of services provided.
As explained elsewhere in this guide, in contrast to the north of the island where water quality is excellent, the water in Costa de Adeje is quite heavy, so we recommend you to drink bottled water.
Costa Adeje Tenerife – Hotels
The main hotels located in Costa de Adeje are newly built and in most cases more luxurious than other places, with a special contact with nature and a peaceful atmosphere, helping the tourists to disconnect from the work routine. The construction of these hotels blends a great imagination and good taste of new generation of buildings.
That includes those representing a small Canary village or colonial style, or the exotic ones full of interesting Asian styles. All very well cared for in every detail. The great thing about this lovely tourist spot is the fantastic feeling of relaxation. The promenade beginning in Playa de Las Vistas in Los Cristianos runs almost entirely around the coast down to Costa Adeje Tenerife.

Costa Adeje Tenerife – Beaches
The most famous Tenerife beaches of Costa Adeje have the feature of fine golden sand and the quality of the services is outstanding. Some details to consider are mentioned below, although we have a special section for Tenerife Beaches with further details:
Playa del Duque
A quiet beach with fine gray-gold sand of about 700 meters long. The beach ‘belongs’ to the facilities of the hotel that bears its name, but it is also visited by users not staying in the hotel.
Playa de Fañabé
This beach is one of the most highly regarded of all the coast of Tenerife. The sand has gray-gold color and fine texture, and the sea is calm, attracting many bathers.
Playa de Torviscas
This beach is the one dividing the area of Playa de las Américas from Costa de Adeje. Its fine sand has grayish color. This beach is well visited throughout the year, by both tourists and islanders.
Costa Adeje Tenerife – Attractions and Activities
As any tourist resort in the South, Costa Adeje Tenerife offers a wide range of leisure activities.
Aqualand Octopus – Costa Adeje
There are several natural theme parks in the municipality, but the closest is the Aqualand Costa Adeje (Octopus). If you have a full day with your family or friends we recommend you visit this renewed waterpark. The entry for the water park and the Dolphin show is € 21.50 for non-resident adults and € 15.50 for children 3 to 12 years, although the website of the park also offers packages which include other supplementary activities. This and other parks in the area are easily accessible by car or public transport, with regular buses (in some cases free of charge from Los Cristianos and Playa de Las Américas).
Golf Costa Adeje
Golf Costa Adeje is one of the best golf courses in the Canary Islands and is only 5 kilometers from Playa de Las Américas.
On the beaches you will find several options for water sports, such as water skiing, windsurfing, kite-boarding and scuba diving. You can also enjoy a boat ride, which can be booked at any of the establishments found in Playa de Fañabé. If you prefer a family or couple outing, a good option is to walk through the lengthy promenade of about 9 kilometers passing by several hotels along the beach.
Costa Adeje Tenerife – Getting There
To reach Costa de Adeje you can rent a car in the South Tenerife airport, which is the closest one. Then take de South Highway TF-1, direction Los Cristianos and towards Playa de Las Américas.
Another good option is to take the public bus service of TITSA (if you purchase the bono-bus the fares are better and it can be used by more than one user). And if you are arriving late in the island you can always take a taxi.
